Our Daily Bread

Give us this day our daily bread
From the dessert they cried out
Hunger caused their hearts to doubt
Manna he fell so they’d be fed
Rants not praise they sang instead

Trade me thy birth right for me bread
Subtly, his blessings he sought
Impeccable was the plot
Hatred amongst brothers bread bred
Mouton had the father misled

Flour and oil is all I have left
Last meal for my son and I
Afterwards we wait to die
Bake for me cake and do not fret
Son from death raised by the prophet

Two loaves of bread, five fishes
To Jesus the boy was led
Five thousand bellies he fed
Sated crowd heeded his speeches
For him his own dug up ditches

For bread many have been declared dead
Though they riseth not like yeast
Their mourning grounds turn feast
To survive we need to be fed
Behold the stranglehold of bread
